Since its establishment, the Minority Empowerment Network (MIEN) has been actively engaged in a variety of activities aimed at empowering communities and providing essential information and services.

Community Information and Awareness
MIEN works to spread crucial information about events, programs, and services offered by various organizations that positively impact our communities. Through social media and community outreach, we raise awareness about mental health and wellness as well as available resources, educate the community so that individuals and families can better access opportunities and support services.

Mental Health Awareness
Day by day, our communities is currently facing a growing mental health crisis. MIEN supports the need for comprehensive mental health strategies in New York City and New York State to reduce emotional suffering and save lives. Our efforts focus on prevention and addressing the social, economic, racial, and cultural factors that affect mental health. MIEN actively shares mental health information and services through social media and community activities.

We organize online workshops and discussions on a wide range of topics, including:

Job Assistance
Our volunteer team supports job seekers by providing:

• Job search assistance
• Resume building and cover letter preparation
• Job application guidance and referrals

Help and Information Desk
We provide important information and community support services, including:

• Sharing valuable information through social media platforms
• Connecting service providers with individuals seeking services
• Helping individuals locate housing, apartments, and rooms
• Assisting immigrants in navigating essential services in their new environment
• Providing guidance on health insurance enrollment and other insurance options
• Offering typing and documentation assistance in both English and Nepali

Immigrant Support Services
We provide basic guidance and assistance to immigrants with immigration-related forms and help them understand available resources.

Promotion of New York Tourism
MIEN promotes tourism in New York City and New York State by sharing information about travel destinations, cultural sites, and attractions through media and online platforms.

Cultural Activities
We promote and preserve South Asian cultures, as well as other cultural traditions, by supporting cultural dance, events, and awareness programs through flyers, social media, and printed materials.

Small Business Support
We actively promote and support small businesses by sharing information about their services and helping increase community visibility.

Referral Services
MIEN provides referrals to trusted organizations and professionals who offer services that benefit individuals and the community.

Community Activities
We organize and support community initiatives such as blood donation drives, park clean-up campaigns, and other social service activities.
